What is Biblical Counseling?
"I praise you because I am... wonderfully made." (Psalms 139:14). Who knows more about the "whole heart, soul, mind and strength" (Luke 10:27) than the creator of them? Biblical counseling benefits all who seek to understand themselves and their circumstances through the eyes of our Creator. Foundational to biblical counseling is the message of the gospel found in the written word of God and embodied by Christ. As the beauty of grace is generously administered, we are transformed from the inside out.
The 66 book library, aka-"The Bible," is really a collection of love letters from heaven to humanity about a father who has sacrificed everything to redeem lost relationship with His children. Biblical counseling serves as a tool of restoration and maintainence of the human spirit with psysiologic benefits. Through the stories of loss, redemption, and restoration, as revealed in scripture, we begin to see God and ourselves as we truly are and are invited into a relationship that is beautifully transformative.
What Should I Expect?
- Use of the Bible~ As both descriptive of the human condition and prescriptive in addressing matters of the soul. Our time together will include application of the timeless message of the gospel to practical issues of today.
- Prayer
- Practical suggestions of things to do in between our sessions to help apply what you're learning. (i.e. growth assignments)
- Safe, judgement free space to share, heal, and grow.
- Confidentiality
- Psychospiritual education
- Fee for service
- Session length options of 45-90 minutes
Although not accepting insurance, my desire is for all to have access to the help and support they want and need. Services are both affordable and approachable.
Sessions are available virtually.
Please note: I am not a licensed counselor or therapist. I offer faith-based, clinically informed counseling and mental health coaching. I refer clients to licensed providers as needed.
